World Food Pogram, Malawi

Travelling makes you absorb a culture.

Malawi, a landlocked country in southeastern Africa, is defined by its topography of highlands split by the Great Rift Valley and enormous Lake Malawi. The lake’s southern end falls within Lake Malawi National Park – sheltering diverse wildlife from colorful fish to baboons – and its clear waters are popular for diving and boating.

Many area’s in Malawi are suffering from drought and malntrition amongst children is widely spread. The World Food Program provides meals for school children in Malawi. In order to fund these meals TNT sponsers the WFP. With money but also by producing and selling a cookbook made by professional cooks. One of the cooks went to Malawi and my assignment was to produce images of a visit to a school in the program, an irrigation project and a clinic for undernourished mothers and infants. The images have been used in articles and promotion material of the project.
